Yes, I did the same thing. Played Skyrim, beat it (took 80 hours) and then moved on to Oblivion and Morrowind. You don't need to play one game to understand the storyline of an other, while they all have common elements, (Same kingdoms, races, even secret brotherhoods and guilds) it's a different storyline. Unfortunately I can't play TES anymore... I took an arrow to the knee.
The stories aren't linked and there isn't much mention of the past Elder Scrolls games. However there are the odd bits of dialogue and in game books that only someone who has played the previous games will be able to relate to.Can i still play Skyrim without playing the other Eldar scrolls?
Yes you can play the game without playing the others. There are a few characters that will talk about event's in earlier games but nothing detailed.
