Its a single player game (but if you buy it for PC, you can get a multiplayer mod)



Its open world and there are SOOOO MANY QUESTS, that it is almost impossible to finish them all
Ive been playing video games for 23 years and this is the biggest map ever it takes like 2 hours to walk to some cities and unlimited option of customization and even the storyline has alterntives. millions of items and hundreds of levels to work on. It's classic RPG elements is what makes it so good, along with the improved melee combat and character customization in regards to combat style.



But, if you don't like single-player RPG then you won't enjoy it.

It is really popular because it keeps you very busy but its just all around a good game

have you ever played fallout 3? its basically the same type of game because its made by the same people. Not to mention the game goes on for hours of quests, gameplay and story
Single player RPG. It's amazing because it's a true classic RPG experience. The story in each Elder Scrolls game is extremely rich, you can create a very unique character based on how you choose to play, the gameplay in Skyrim is fantastic... what isn't good about it? It's challenging, full of puzzles, never ending quests, mysterious, great graphics... the list goes on.



Skyrim is definitely the best Elder Scrolls game so far. However, each game links to each other in mild ways. Each game takes place in a whole country in the continent of Tamriel. Morrowind took place in Morrowind, Hammerfell took place in Hammerfell, Oblivion took place in Cyradil, and so on and so forth. Each game takes place in a different time. Skyrim takes place 200 years after Oblivion, so there are a lot of references to Oblivion in Skyrim.



The Elder Scrolls games really define the RPG first person genre. Final Fantasy defines the 3rd person RPG genre.
Single player, its an open world game with LOTS to do, its based in the medieval age though, but its awesome.
