Should I play other Elder Scrolls games before Skyrim?

I want to get Skyrim but will I have to know anything about stories and lore from previous Elder Scrolls games for it to make sense?Should I play other Elder Scrolls games before Skyrim?
No, you don't have to. Each game has it's own unique story, and generally they happen many years apart. The only thing that playing the others would do is help explain nuances. For it to make sense, you don't need any knowledge of the elder scrolls whatsoever. However, you might notice little things and understand certain little phrases if you play the others that you wouldn't get of you hadn't. As for making sense, don't worry about it.
oblivion is one of the best games ever so you might want to play it for the fun but im gueesing without the sentemetal value of oblivion skyrum will be better anyway :D so just play skyrum (it better still be glitchy :P thats the only reason i played oblivion XDShould I play other Elder Scrolls games before Skyrim?
Not really, it takes place 200 years after oblivion, I personally love all them and ive read all the lore but you dont have to.
The Skryim storyline will not have any impact from Oblivion. But if you want to get use to the gameplay and controls, then get Oblivion.Should I play other Elder Scrolls games before Skyrim?
Skyrim takes place 200 years after Oblivion. While there are Daedric Shrines, there are little to no storyline ties.
aside from ever so brief mentions there isn't all that much that carries over from one game to another reference wise.
No, you dont need to.
