That is why you regularly save. If you're not sure of a particular choice, you save before and see what happens.
But honestly, the only regrettable choices you'll make is if you go on a killing rampage and somehow mess up a quest.Skyrim: will i regret a choice in this game.?
Ben gives a good answer above but the joy of the game is to make a new caracjters then play a different way next time.

Usually if you look up the quest on google it will tell you what happens if you choose what. But yeah just save your game before you do it incase you want to comeback. For example i accedentily killed the guy to start the Mehrunz Razor quest or however you spell it, and that was a loooong time ago so i just have to deal with not doing that quest.Skyrim: will i regret a choice in this game.?
In all honesty, the decisions you make rarely affect the story or your character at all. Unless you do anything particularly major. There are little to no consequences and you will have nothing to regret.
